We get a lot of calls about how to get to The River Shack from in town.  Can’t say we’re surprised, The River Shack is the place to be outside the french quarter to get authentic New Orleans Jazz and Rock.  Why take a cab out of the quarter for good food, drinks and live music?  Simple – you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg to hear what the people in town think tourists want on vacation to the big easy.

Hell, no.  You want food that sings to your palate like Big Al sings to your soul, drinks that get drunk and music that hasn’t been crafted to your expectations like an alligator necklace and fleur de lis earrings.

In other words, you want to take a ride down river road to the lov… err, River Shack to party with the people who know how: The locals.  The River Shack – where the food has an accent and you learn the true meaning of southern hospitality.

Get a new definition of cupboard love and don’t leave your appetite at home.  You’ve probably already noticed there’s no such thing as a small portion in New Orleans – well, that’s double for the places that don’t pony up the big bucks for the privilege of opening up shop on smelly and squalid Bourbon Street.  Don’t get us wrong, we like to party as much as anyone – we just prefer to do it where we can see the ground.
